We celebrate our diverse, multicultural region through youth educational programs and community outreach.  Our goal is to bring orchestral music as close as possible to the communities where it might be the least accessible through our signature programs.

“How Music Talks” Educational Youth Concerts

“How Music Talks” is our youth concert program for students in the Vineland and Atlantic City School Districts.  Many in this impressionable and young audience would not have the opportunity to experience a live symphony orchestra if these concerts were not presented.  A comprehensive teachers’ study guide is part of the program.

Music Mentorship Program

Our Music Mentorship Program is hosted at the Sovereign Avenue School in Atlantic City, Atlantic City High School and Vineland High School.  Through the Music Mentorship Program, music students receive 120 contact hours with a professional musician at no charge.

 Holiday Youth Chorus

Bringing performing opportunities to youth, both vocal and instrumental, at our December concerts, is a highly-anticipated annual tradition during the holiday season each year.

Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children

Hundreds of visually-impaired youth who attend summer camp at the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children in Avalon enjoy orchestral musical instruction.  These musical experiences stimulate their auditory senses while developing motor and social skills.  A summer highlight is campers making their own “recycled orchestra” instruments from household materials.
